GROUP: ASSISTED REPRODUCTION AND PREIMPLANTATION EMBRYOLOGY IN BOVINE
Analyze the early embryonic development in vivo and in vitro in mammals. Determine the factors (media and culture systems in vitro or in vivo, using intermediate host) that affect embryo production, sex ratio and embryo quality, as measured by cryotolerance, gene expression and embryo transfer. Understanding the mechanisms that controls maternal-embryonic interactions. Formulate and develop seminal extender free of animal protein to avoid possible transmission of pathogens. Estrus synchronization, induction heat programs, timed AI in beef cattle. Establishing MOET groups for superovulation treatments, recipient’s synchronization and use of sexed semen. Studying factors responsible for infertility in dairy Cattle.
